Shed Delivery and Fitting Requirements

Installation requirements

A solid level base must be provided by the customer before installation can be carried out, unless being prepared by our fitters.  If an adequate base has not been prepared upon arrival, the building will be left tidily stored, but unassembled at the customer's premises, a £50.00 revisit charge will have to be paid, in advance, if our fitters are to return and complete assembly.

Solvent treated buildings up to 10' x 6' are dip treated in a water based treatment.  Solvent treated buildings over 10' x 6' are hand painted on the outside only.  It is highly recommended that customers treat their new buildings with an appropriate timber preservative which must be water repellent.  TJ's  can not be held responsible for damp patches should an unsuitable preservative is used or the product is not applied correctly in line with the instructions on the product.

Fair and reasonable access must be provided to the intended site.  If a building is to be taken through a property or through a neighbouring property or garden, TJ's accepts no responsibility for any damage caused.  In addition where access is impossible and dangerous to our staff the building will be left tidily stored but unassembled, for the customer to arrange installation.  If our fitters are to return and complete assembly a £50.00 revisit charge will have to be paid in advance.

A deposit is taken at the point of sale or payment in full, if a deposit is paid then payment in full is paid prior to the day of installation.

Delivery/installation dates are quoted as accurately as possible but circumstances beyond our control may result in the date being changed.

Timber is a natural material and as such is subject to seasonal movement and occasional splits, lifting, knots and knot holes they are part of the integrity of the timber and cannot be guaranteed against.  This does not effect the structural stability or performance of the building.  Occasionally felt can wrinkle, this is due to temperature changes and not to any fault in the product.  The felt is covered for 6 months after this period if there is a problem we will do a site visit to assess the roof.

In the event of any claim, the sellers liability will in no circumstances exceed the cost of the defective piece(s).  Liability does not cover any damage caused by storms, high winds or adverse weather conditions.  Ensure your building is covered by your household insurance policy.

All timber sizes quoted are nominal before machining.
